Gudari

Gudari
The nomadic tribes of Rajasthan follow their own technique for creating textiles. Sewn in a simple running stitch, the upper part of the Gudari usually has a new cotton fabric dyed in geru (Indian red, the color of earth). This part is decorated with colored thread, in running stitch. Gudaris are used for everything from dresses to bedcovers, bags, and coverings for their snake baskets, as mattress, as blankets and other household linen.
